Guy was born and raised in England, where he studied Acting and Photography before receiving BA from Royal Holloway, University of London with a focus in Screenwriting and Directing Screen Fiction.
After working in England as a Cinematographer, whilst also writing & directing his own short films, Guy moved to Los Angeles to study Cinematography at the American Film Institute Conservatory. Here he earned a MFA in the discipline.
His graduate thesis film Dirty Laundry went on to become a Region 1 Finalist for the 41st Student Academy Awards and earned Guy the 2014 Linwood Dunn Student Heritage Award from The American Society of Cinematographers.
Guy now works between the USA and the UK. He strives to keep his work free from an identifiable style, believing that the impression made by the Cinematographer upon a film should go largely unnoticed by the viewer. His goal is to construct cinematic imagery that accurately reflects the emotion of each narrative, whilst always clearly and concisely telling the story.
